Frequently Asked Questions
Making a match
Tête à Tête facilitates artist to artist peer consulting by hosting a network of seasoned arts professionals who are also skilled consultants to offer advice about your arts business career.
How does it work?
Use the drop down menu to select a category in which you are seeking advice in, and then see available consultants, their qualifications, and their fees. When you find one you like, click the “Request a consult” button. This will take you to our questionnaire to determine your needs, timeframe, etc. Once that’s submitted, Ella Project will reach out to your preferred consultant and ensure the timeframes and issues match. Once a match is made, you’ll receive a payment link to sign up for your initial hour of consulting. Once that is paid, Ella Project will set up your initial consultation.
Consultations
How do these consultations take place?
Up to you and your consultant: Phone, zoom, in person, all is fine.
Can I use your office to host meetings?
Yes. We are located at the New Orleans Jazz Museum at 400 Esplanade Ave.
I think I’d be a good consultant. How to I get on the roster?
We’re always looking for people who’d like to help. Our steering committee regularly reviews applications. Submit yours here!
Fees
The consultant sets their own rates and keeps 100% of the fee.
Does this leave out people of very limited means?
The Ella Project has a small fund available for scholarships to cover fees for artists with limited means.
So Ella Project doesn’t take a cut?
No, we have foundation support for this program to cover our staff time and website development needs. If you’d like to support our efforts, the best way to do so is by joining as an Artist Member.
Evaluation
At the end of the process, you’ll receive an evaluation to tell us about your experience, what worked, and what didn’t. It’s really helpful to complete this evaluation so we can ensure we’re offering valuable and important advice.
